Dear Fellow Soldiers of Christ Jesus,
Greetings from the students and staff of Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria and Southwest School of Evangelism, Ibadan.
With deep appreciation in my heart to our Lord Christ Jesus, who in His grace and mercy has made me one of His ministers in His kingdom on earth, I sent this September 2026 report to you all.
OVERVIEW:
1. First Semester Classes Concluded
2. Weekend Evangelism Outreach
3. Students Vocational Studies/Preaching Trip
4. Introducing Additional Instructor
FIRST SEMESTER CLASSES CONCLUDED:
The first semester classes for the 2026/2027 academic session, which commenced on Monday, August 3rd, came to an end today, September 25th, 2026, with twenty-eight students — nineteen in Year One and nine in Year Two.
Eight instructors served actively this semester:

While Bro. Olowe Timileyin, Bro. Olaegbe Samuel and Bro. Oladokun Samuel continued their services at our extension program in Sabo-Sagamu, Ogun State.
The second semester will, by God’s grace, commence on Monday, October 26th, 2026.
WEEKEND EVANGELISM OUTREACH:
In spite of low funds, the school continued her assistance to nine congregations within Ibadan and Asejire in Osun State.
As a result of our joint efforts with brethren in those congregations, five souls were added to the body of Christ, and a couple was restored to the faith at Asejire, Osun State.
STUDENTS VOCATIONAL STUDIES / TEACHING PRACTICE:
Most of our Year One students will undergo vocational studies in Ibadan for the next four weeks, while our Year Two students will be assisting some congregations in Oyo, Osun and Lagos States during this break.
We expect them back on the evening of October 25th in preparation for second semester classes.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
In spite of my wife’s sickness since last year, which consumes about 20-30% of my quarterly support, I was able, by God’s grace, to support the students under my care in this month of September from sales of farm products and rents from my building in Ibadan.
Also, with the generous gift of $400 from Brother Chad Wagner and associates, the school was able to fix the collapsed fence between September 14th and 18th.
OUR CHALLENGES:
a) The school currently carries an outstanding debt of ₦8,110,000, resulting from financial difficulties experienced by some stakeholders which affected their contributions toward the July–December 2025 training period.
b) The school needs about ₦150,000 ($107) to ring the engine of our Evangelism Van which is now worn, or ₦1,500,000 ($1,071) to replace the engine with a fairly-used (tokunbo) engine.
According to our mechanic, ringing the engine will serve us for another three to five months, but replacing it with a tokunbo engine may serve us for another two to four years before developing another major problem.
INTRODUCING ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTOR – BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN:
I write with joy to introduce one of our faithful sons, Brother Festus Ayoo Usman, a 2013 graduate of Southwest School of Evangelism, Ibadan.
Due to an attempted assassination by bandits in early 2026, Brother Usman relocated from Isanlu Town, Kogi State to Butu-London, Butubutu Village via Badeku, Jago, Ona-Ara L.G.A, Oyo State.
He is currently:
– A BVBIN degree student,
– Minister of the Church of Christ, Jago via Badeku, and
– Science Teacher at Southwest Kiddies Academy.
He is happily married and blessed with four children.
The Lord willing, he will be joining the teaching crew of BVBIN / SWSE-Ibadan from next semester —October 26 to December 19, 2026
We thank God for his life and commitment, and we commend him to your fellowship and support.
ABOUT A STUDENT
Brother Bamidele Moses is one of our degree students. A native of Ibadan, he presently serves as the gospel minister of the Lord’s church in Moro-Ife, Osun State, and is a graduate of BVBIN & SWSE-Ibadan.
Born in 1992 in Ibadan to a Muslim cleric, he was born into the Lord’s kingdom in 2010. He is happily married and blessed with two children. He is preparing to direct the proposed BVBIN school in Ife town, Osun State in 2027.
MY DREAM: PRESERVING A LEGACY FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
As I grow older, my earnest desire is to preserve the bulk of my teachings since the establishment of the Southwest School of Evangelism, Ibadan in 2003 in published form, so that the coming generation may glean from them.
To the glory of God, I have already published three books this year — Ethics of Finance, The Psychology of Christian Personality, and Growing a Local Church — printing one thousand copies of each and distributing them freely to congregations of the Lord’s church and friends throughout Nigeria.
At present, I have completed the compilation of two additional lecture series — Church Problems and Systematic Theology. The cost of printing one thousand copies of these books is estimated at over ₦2,000,000 (Two Million Naira).
This is my humble effort to leave a lasting teaching legacy for the church.
COMING EVENTS:
Three-Day Mass Evangelism Outreach in Ogungbade Area, Ibadan
We are planning a three-day mass evangelism outreach in the Ogungbade area of Ibadan from October 8-11, 2026, with the aim of planting the Lord’s church in the area where one of our female students resides.
Bro. Eniafe Olukayode will be assisting the new congregation until it is mature enough to appoint its own minister.
CONCLUSION
We deeply appreciate the moral and financial contributions from all our stakeholders towards the growth and continuity of this preacher-training institution and the Lord’s church in Africa and the world at large. May the Lord of blessings continue to bless all you do for His name — this is our fervent prayer.
Sincerely His and yours as a servant,
Makinde Ebenezer Olufemi
The Chief Servant, BVBIN, SWSE-Ibadan and WBSFUW
