October 2025 Ministry Report: BVBIN & SWSE-Ibadan
Dear Beloved Brothers and Sisters,
Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
We are pleased to present the October 2025 report from the students and staff of the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Nigeria (BVBIN) & Southwest School of Evangelism (SWSE), Ibadan.
Program Highlights
SECOND SEMESTER CLASSES BEGIN:
The 2025/2026 second semester commenced as scheduled on Monday, October 27. We have a total of 29 students, with seventeen in Year One and twelve in Year Two.
* Morning classes are held in the Doug Wheeler Events Center.
* Afternoon classes are held in the Chad Wagner Hall.
Year One students returned from their vocational training, and Year Two students returned from their four-week preaching assignments, all in preparation for the semester start.
SUCCESSFUL EVANGELISM & VOCATIONAL STUDIES:
The Lord crowned the students’ four-week assignments with wonderful success:
* Evangelism: Students on preaching assignments engaged in daily house-to-house evangelism, resulting in seven conversions and fifteen restorations, with many prospects to God’s glory. Students on vocational training joined local congregations for weekend outreach.
The combined effort of all our students during their assignments was deeply encouraging.
IMPACT OF VOICE OF TRUTH INTERNATIONAL (VOTI)
Reports on VOTI Volume 123 & 124 show that these materials continue to be a powerful tool for the Kingdom. They have aided in the conversion of over twenty souls across Nigeria and the edification of countless brethren.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Brother Jerry Bates and the World Evangelism Crew for their incredible commitment and financial provision, which makes the printing of this vital resource possible.
SPECIAL ACCOMPLISHMENT & INFRASTRUCTURE:
Solar Electrification Projects Completed.
We are delighted to report the successful completion of several key infrastructure projects:
* Solar Lights were installed in the Chad Wagner Hall.
* The two SWKA blocks were successfully electrified.
* The electrical system was extended to the pumping machine for the second borehole, improving our water supply.
This was made possible by the generous financial support of Gahanna-Jefferson Church of Christ and Zachary Van Tassel. We deeply appreciate your help in improving the campus environment.
SOUTHWEST SCHOOL OF EVANGELISM (SWSE) – Kiddies Academy (SWKA)
We thank God for the start of the 2025/2026 academic session!
* New Session Begins: Following the Oyo State Ministry of Education schedule, the school resumed on Monday, September 15.
* Enrollment Growth: Enrollment has increased significantly from approximately 90 to 137 students. This growth is a direct result of the free holiday coaching organized by the school between August 28 and September 12.
* Staffing: The school now employs eight qualified and experienced teachers.
* Scholarship Program: Twenty-five students are currently on scholarship, thanks to the fellowship and support of Gahanna-Jefferson Church of Christ, Cherry Lloyd, and Chad Wagner.
We appreciate the Gahanna-Jefferson COC, Cherry Lloyd, and Chad Wagner for their deep concern and support. We seek more brethren and congregations to partner with us in providing sound education for these children of less-privileged brethren and community members.
ABOUT A STUDENT : Bro. Udofia Eyo Anikan
We would like to share the story of one of our dedicated students:
Bro. Udofia Eyo Anikan is a native of Ini in Akwa-Ibom State, born in April 1960. He holds a National Diploma in Electrification and became a member of the Lord’s Church in 2020. Bro. Anikan gained admission into BVBIN & SWSE-Ibadan in 2023. His mission here is to deepen his knowledge of the Lord’s Church and to become a dedicated gospel minister upon the completion of his studies.
May the Lord continue to bless all our supporters and stakeholders in Christ Jesus’ name. Amen.
OUR CHALLENGE
We are deeply grateful for the continued love and support of Bro. Chad Wagner and the 70W Church of Christ toward the work of the SWSE–Ibadan. Although every effort was made to raise the sum of $5,000 for our operations from July to September 2025, the needed amount could not be realized. As a result, we were compelled to secure ₦6,000,000 in August and September 2025 to keep the school running smoothly.
By God’s grace, we have been able to pay ₦2,000,000 during the last quarter of the year.
However, there still remains a significant need to meet our operational commitments.
We therefore humbly appeal to all our beloved supporters and stakeholders to kindly stand with us at this crucial time. Your prayers, encouragement, and financial support continue to make a tremendous difference in sustaining this ministry and training future servants of Christ.
In Conclusion, we deeply appreciate you all for your great partnership and encouragement. May the Lord continue to bless all our work together in Christ Jesus name, amen.
I remain Yours in His Grace as a servant,
Makinde Ebenezer Olufemi
The Chief Servant of BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN and WBSFUW
