Beloved in Christ Jesus.
Greetings from students and staff of Bear Valley Bible Institute Nigeria and Southwest School of Evangelism Ibadan located in Butu -London, Butubutu village via Badeku/Jago, Ona-Ara Local Government Area, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Below is the report of some of our activities for the month of October 2024:
- The BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN concluded all first semester lectures on October 11; marking the start of a four-week Vocational Training program for the first-year students. During this time, second-year students begin their practical assignments on Monday (October 14); working with congregations across the Western States of Nigeria that have requested their services. Second semester classes are scheduled to begin, God willing, on November 11, 2024.
- On October 13, a significant event took place in the history of the Lord’s Church in Mile 12, Lagos State. Three brothers (Michael Akerele, Olukunle Odebode, and Adetunji Oni) were ordained as elders; while seven brothers (Okedara Bode, Oyeleke Gbenga, Onaolapo Ninyo, Adegboyega Akinbade, Christian Idenu, Olaolu Olowoyo, and Abiodun Adisa) were ordained as deacons. The ceremony was officiated by myself, Makinde Ebens, alongside Bro. Ayobami Akanji, an elder from the Lord’s Church in Isheri-Oshun, Bro. Biodun Owolabi, President of WNCC & SBS in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Bro. Adisa from Onipanu COC, and Bro. Jeremiah Taiwo, Bro. Emmanuel Oguntade, among others. The event was attended by over 300 brethren from various congregations within and beyond Lagos State. We pray that the Lord grants these newly ordained elders and deacons divine guidance as they lead the church in Mile 12.
- The two-weekend evangelism outreach on October 4 and 11, along with the preaching trips by our second-year students and fellow workers, has resulted in the conversion of six souls. Our second-year students are currently assisting various congregations in the Western States of Nigeria:

THE BIRTH OF THE LORD’S CHURCH IN BWOR VILLAGE, PANYAM DISTRICT, MANGU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA (L.G.A.) PLATEAU STATE
We are thrilled to announce the establishment of the Lord’s church in Bwor Village, Plateau State, led by one of our first-year students, Princewill Simeon. Princewill, who joined our Ministerial program in 2022, began evangelizing in his home village at the start of this year. By God’s grace, his efforts have borne fruit; with nine individuals choosing to follow Christ through conversion.
The congregation gathered for Worship on October 27 with a total of 15 in attendance. We give thanks for this new church community and pray for its continued growth and impact in Bwor Village.
OCTOBER ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
With an additional loan of N885,000, we successfully installed a new solar battery and four solar panels. These are now added to the previous three batteries and eight solar panels installed in September. This expansion now allows us to provide electricity to the six BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN buildings and two SW Kiddies Academy buildings for ten hours daily (from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am).
As a result of this solar installation, we have significantly reduced fuel consumption. The amount of fuel used to power the generators has dropped from 58 liters per week to just 10 liters; which is now only required to pump water twice a week from the school’s second borehole to the surrounding community.
Our total loan amount now stands at N4,885,000 ($3,260), which we aim to repay by the first quarter of 2025 – God willing.
SPECIAL CHALLENGE:
We need the naira equivalent of $3,260 to pay off loans taken in early September and October 2024 for the running of the school and installation of solar lights in the BVBIN and SWSE-IBADAN compounds. This initiative has reduced our monthly fuel consumption for power generation in the school. Your support would be highly appreciated .
ABOUT A STUDENT:
Sister Akanmu Temitope Abigail is one of our first-year students. She hails from Butubutu Village in Ibadan, Oyo State, and was born in 1995 to a prominent native doctor, Suleman Olugbode.
