In the midst of economic crisis, rising inflation and many other ugly situations in Nigeria, the work of evangelism is progressing and very, very effectively.
The month of May, 2024 started with the conversion of four souls at Oruk Usung in Obot Akara Local Government Area (L.G.A.), during a one day World Bible School (WBS) seminar and evangelism outreach in the area. Even though we had a problem in the vehicle we used, we were able to make it and the journey was very successful.
The church at Ikot Enyenge Village in Mkpat Enin L.G.A was resuscitated during evangelism campaign which witnessed one baptism and two restorations. The church, which started in 1995, was no more in existence, but now it has come back to life again with twelve people in attendance including children.
Also, the church at Ikot Ufen Afahaobong Abak L.G.A. was reactivated. The church at Ikot Ufen was closed down over the years due to internal crisis in the church, but at the appointed time, the leaders of the village invited us to reopen the church. It was formally reopened on 4th May, 2024.
There was one baptism at Nkek Abak in Abak L.G.A.
There were WBS seminars at Abak Usung Atai, Abak L.G.A. and Itiam Ikot Ebia in Uyo L.G.A. of Akwa Ibom State. We had many people enrolled into WBS studies.
Ikot Oku Ikono in Uyo L.G.A. had one baptism.
No. 20 Paul Bassey Street, Uyo recorded three baptisms.
Ikot Mbon Ikono had 3 baptisms.
Ukpom Central had 2 baptisms.
Ikot Udo Ika L.G.A had one baptism.
A one day youth seminar at Ikot Ekan, Etinan L.G.A had a great number of youth in attendance.
The preachers’ and church leaders’ seminar at the Nigerian Christian Bible College was a successful one. The theme and the topics were very, very helpful to us; especially in the current situation in Nigeria where we are very miserable and suffering because of the recession and economic turn down.
Pictures are attached.
I pray that may God continue to strengthen all of you and protect you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Yours in the Lord,
Sunday Solomon Udoh
